HOW TO TRANSITION A WARDROBE FROM WINTER TO SPRING
Spring is here! Time to slay your dresses, minis and tees.
Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring can be a daunting task but with a few tricks you should sail through. Here are the basics you need to revolutionise your wardrobe:
Light Wash Denim

Nothing gives a spring vibe as a light wash or white denim, which are a far cry from the very dark tones of winter or bright blues of summer. You can have your denim in varied forms - trousers (skinny or wide-leg), shorts and skirts. These you can pair with your tees, blouses, outerwear such as hoodies, edgy-boyfriend blazers, etc.
Layers

If you thought the season for layering was over, then think twice. Spring does have chilly mornings, so make sure you're dressed appropriately before catching a cold! In winter, you do all-around layering, but in spring, you layer strategically because of the variations in temperatures. You need to have layers on for those cold mornings (which you can take off in the afternoon when it's hot). A trench coat does the trick in this case. It's perfect for a medium layer which is seasonally appropriate. Besides, it's not too heavy and keeps you warm.
Colours and Prints

It's time to say goodbye to the dark colours of winter and embrace spring colours and prints. Tap into seasonal colours like nudes, whites, blushes and creams for all your wardrobe staples - tees, coats, sweaters, etc.
Repurpose
One way to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring is to repurpose some of your winter clothing. You can pair your knee-high or over-the-knee boots with midi or short spring dresses and pleated skirts. Another way is to wear your chunky sweaters with light spring dresses, leggings, jeans, short skirts and baby doll dresses. Plus, you can layer them over your tees and tank tops.
Go Maxi
Spring is the perfect time to make a comeback for midi dresses, chunky sweaters and maxi skirts. Light, flowy maxi skirts gel well with chunky sweaters, cardigans and boots. Alternatively, a tank top with a maxi skirt and denim jacket isn't a bad combo. You can also wear an on-point denim or cotton skirt to transform a plain tee and sneakers.
Colourful accessories

Accessorising colourfully is a surefire way to transition between both seasons. As a rule of thumb, opt for bright coloured handbags and shoes to perk up some of your winter clothing you will be repeating in spring.
Swap out your footwear

Put the spring back into your step with footwear such as ballet flats, open-toe mules and ankle boots. Wear these with lighter winter pieces like skinny jeans, and you are good to go.
