Fancy that! Not a bad idea for a romantic getaway or spending quality time with your family. Not a fan of sleeping in an ice hotel - brrr!!! You might prefer something warmer - soaking up in a hot springs. All you need to do is find a nearby hot springs and drive over to take a dip. Not surprised this item made it to the list. Well, there's nothing like gliding in blades on a frozen pond, lake or river. But if you can't find a frozen body of water to skate on, you can try out other ice skating rinks in your area.

Winter could be the perfect time to test your culinary skills. Around this time of year, chilli is a fave dish, so get a recipe to try out. Who knows, you may end up blowing away your guests or family with a tasty chilli dish at Christmas or New Year's Eve.

Something for the daredevils! True, because it takes a lot of guts to plunge into a body of water in minus-degree weather with barely anything on. In Canada, polar bear plunges are a New Year's celebrations activity, so mark it on your calendar if you haven't. Besides, all that dare deviling could help support a worthy cause since most polar bear plunges are held by charitable organisations to raise funds.
