11 THINGS TO HAVE ON YOUR FALL BUCKET LIST

We've taken the hassle out of filling up your fall bucket list. Read on about eleven (11) things you can do to have a fun-filled fall.

Tame Your Clutter

fall bucket list

The least you can do for yourself this fall is to clean up your space. It is mentally and physically healthy (keeps out the bugs!). Besides, a new season calls for a wardrobe change. You'll be buying a new set of clothing, and you need to make room for it. So say goodbye to your summer clothes (at least for another year!). Get some storage for them somewhere in your room - an organizer can come in handy here. Or you can give away those you don't need to charity. Speaking of taming clutter, check out these great tips from Ikea.

You might also want to redecorate with some seasonal décor after decluttering. Or fixing up anything that needs repairing such as the heater or filters.

Meditate

Your fall bucket list will be incomplete without some self-care. One of the best ways to be loving to yourself is to meditate or have some quiet time. After all the hustle and bustle of summer, fall can be a good time for some peace and quiet. Dedicate a part of your week or day to these precious moments and you won't regret it. You will be more in tune with yourself, calmer and more energized.

No quite sure how to go about your meditation sessions? Try Apps like Calm, Buddhify, Unplug, Headspace and Ten Percent Happier Meditation.

Get A Journal

Fall is indeed the season for reflections - it's just a few months from the end of the year. Just the right time to revisit your goals - which ones have not been achieved and need to be done before the year ends, and which ones need to be shifted to the coming year. It's also a new season and a time to pen down all the new experiences that await you. If you are into all that self-care stuff, you can start a gratitude journal and write down all the things you are thankful for in the year - it can be very liberating.

Enjoy The Little Things

fall bucket list

During fall you want to slow down and savour some of life's little comforts. Wrap yourself up in a blanket and enjoy the warmth of your fireside or light your favourite candle to read a book (or listen to some tunes or watch a movie). Cold nights are the perfect occasion for some escapism.

Throw A Fall Feast

Show you are a good host - invite your friends over for a meal. Better still, have a potluck - let them bring over a meal to share. We advise you set up outdoors in the garden or backyard if the weather is warm. It's more fun and makes it easier for your guests to mingle.

Bottle Up Something Tasty

fall bucket list

It's time to get those jar bottles out! Fruits are in season during fall - apples, cranberries, passion fruits, kumquats, and the list goes on. So why not preserve something you can help yourself to in winter. Imagine some jam served with your Christmas scones - not a bad idea at all!

Pick Apples

fall bucket list

Well, you heard us - apples are in season during fall! So bundle up with your friends and head off to the orchards for some apple picking. This trip might come in handy if you're planning on making some jam.

Alternatively, you can pick out pre-picked apples from farm shops if you missed out on the apple-picking season - it's the next best thing to apple picking!

Make Some Jack-O'-Lanterns

fall bucket list

Be a huge halloweeny this fall! Carve some pumpkins and light them up with a candle or other light. Display your jack-o'-lanterns on the lawn, porch, patio or other places in your home. And oh, do save the pumpkin seeds to bake them afterwards. You can munch on them for a healthy dose of zinc.

Get Outdoorsy (Or Sporty)

The cooler temperatures of fall may actually be the best for outdoor activities.(Talk about less sweat!). Speaking of which, we have a list of stuff you can engage in:

  • take a hike
  • go for a run
  • bike
  • play football, soccer, Frisbee or your favourite sport with friends in the park
  • sign up for a race, marathon or turkey-trot (you can try out the Blue Nose International Marathon and the Niagara Falls International Marathon)

    Get In Tune With Nature

    fall bucket list

During fall, nature takes on a whole new look. Have you ever taken time to admire all that amazing display of gold or crimson leaves. No wonder it's the perfect season to take in the scenery. So how about going leaf-peeping or stopping by a local botanical garden. You can also go for a walk in the park or get creative by collecting some fall leaves to do some décor.

    Go On A Weekend Trip

    fall bucket list

Plan something out of town with your bestie or hubby for the weekend. You can do an R&R vacation at a resort and spa or tour a new city. A pre-holiday trip can ease the stress and put you in a lighter mood for the holiday season ahead.
